This is the first trip I have taken with this group of
individuals that my best friends are not here. It for the most part is a trip
that I have decided to take on my own, without the initiation of the other
guys. Though it is something that is new for me, taking a trip with my own
initiative, when I could be home with some college friends doing college things
on spring break, I look forward to the experience I will have in Mexico. As we
drive the central valley of California, I have a lot of time to reflect and
plan for this week ahead. In addition, acting as a leader and role model on
this trip is something that is very new for me as well. For the longest time in
my life, I have been fed and have been a follower, when now I am going to be
leader and will feed others. Though this doesn’t necessarily mean that I have
my life together better than anyone else, putting on a facade that I do is
something that I will not do. Exploiting my areas of weakness is something can
help people grow, and help me open my heart to God. Being away this week from
the distractions and sin that is around me at home will really be a mind and
heart opening experience. Thank you Lord, for all of the blessings you have
given me and for the courage to do this. Though it isn’t a huge over seas
mission trip, sharing Jesus’ love with the people of Mexico and sharing Jesus’
love with the others in my group will be an amazing experience.
Anton, Loved reading your post. I am proud of you. Praying that God meets you at the point of your need. Watch for how he reveals Himself in your life this week. It will be amazing!!! PF
